December Vlog and Update, telling you guys what’s been going on. Sorry I haven’t made a lot of videos lately, been trying to do a lot of ever things and I have to make an income due to the lack of gigs. I have lacked on the DJ company lately, like maintaining the website and marketing. I need to catch up on the whole DJ company and I need to make more videos. I’m aiming for one video a week!
Here are some image from BPM 2011, if you want to see more please add me as a friend on Facebook. I look forward to seeing you all at BPM 2012, if you have any pictures you think I will like tag me in them and I will have a look!
Here is a Gig Log from the 3/12/2011. Sorry its not the best footage, I need to purchase a new camera which is better in low light situations and picks up music better. Overall was a really good gig, everyone really enjoyed themselves. This is currently my large rig, I would like to purchase a sub to balance out the volume for the mackies.
I recently purchased the Rhino Multi Clamps, which are O Clamps designed to make hanging your lighting easier and safer from your listing trusses. What do you think of the O Clamps? Leave a comment below. I believe these are brilliant clamps but I would like to start using safety chains on my lighting, because you never know what can happen.
I have decided to give you monthly exclusives on my blog. Keep checking this website on a regular basis, there is always something happening and I will be keeping you informed!
So what’s been happening?
-> A lot of thinking and hard work…I have been putting a lot of thought into my mobile disco company and what I can do to improve the amount of work I’m getting and become a better company.
-> I have been working on new projects, I have been working on another website www.BestDJEquipment.net. Providing reviews and advice when purchasing DJ equipment.
-> I have also created a new Youtube channel [not related to DJing] Visit my channel Richard Shire – Youtube. Remember to subscribe for the latest videos and stuff!
-> What videos do you want to see? Leave a comment and I will do my best!
I will do my post more regular videos once soon. Thank you for all the support. Your comments are appreciated and read. I will also aim to reply to your messages!
Do you think mobile DJing is a profession? Leave your own opinion, in this video I describe why some people say being a DJ is a profession and why people may say it isn’t a profession. I personally believe mobile DJing is a profession, its a skill and you can earn money from it.
Reasons For: It’s a skill, you require an interest in music. You’re gaining an income, from something you love and are passionate about.
Reasons Against: No qualifications from being a DJ. Not “full time” [your not seen during the day, working or answering phone calls/talking to clients].
It’s important to take both sides of the discussion, so you understand the reasons why people are disagreeing and agreeing with your answer ect. I believe people disagreeing and saying “DJing isn’t a profession” only see one side of being a DJ and that is playing music, they aren’t taking into consideration; time spent talking to clients, managing music, paper work and equipment management. Especially if you want to become a full time mobile DJ, you need to make sure everything is professional and spend time organising and being prepared for every event. All events are unique and should be treated uniquely.

How do you transport your DJ equipment at home? I’m mainly focusing on at home because I store the majority of my equipment [with exceptions] in a log cabin. I use this handy garden truck with helps save a lot of time. Check out my video below as I demonstrate how easy it has made transporting the equipment at home.
What’s your opinions on having a music player integrated into your mobile disco website? I find it distracting and makes me want to leave the website and visit another, especially if you can’t stop it. A lot of people have been trying to integrate the music player into the website and hide it, at least give your customers the option to turn the music off.
